It's the absolute last thing anyone wanted.

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was carted off the field Sunday with a right knee injury.

Nabers went airborne down the sideline and landed in a bad way. It looked like he may have jarred his knee on the plant to rise up for the deep ball from Jaxson Dart.

It was meant to be an exciting day for the Giants.

It's the first career start for rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who ran for an early touchdown.

It's supposed to be a long-term partnership between Dart and Nabers.

But this injury throws everything into doubt in the short term.

Giants fans will immediately just be hoping that Nabers is OK.

If Nabers missed time, it places more responsibility on receivers Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton.

It's also just a bummer for Nabers, who was so good as a rookie. He's clearly one of the most talented WRs in all of football.

It's better for the NFL, and for the Giants, if Nabers is on the field. But right now, that might not be how it goes for a while.
