John Harbaugh was visiting the New York Giants for head coaching interviews on Wednesday.
Verizon also had a service outage.
Those two things don't appear to be connected at first glance.
But it didn't stop sports fans from coming up with meme-worthy posts about the whole thing.
There was this one, mixing the Mets and Giants:
BREAKING: After a tragic series of miscommunications caused by the Verizon outage, the New York Mets have signed John Harbaugh to be their Left Fielder, while the New York Giants have hired Kyle Tucker to be their Head Coach pic.twitter.com/1hnx3AyOpc

There was this one, suggesting the Giants were responsible:
So can we all agree that the @Verizon outage is because the @Giants don’t want anyone calling Harbaugh while he’s in East Rutherford?

And there was this one, jokingly suggesting a deal was already done and simply couldn't be reported:

The holdup is that his agent has Verizon cell service and has not been able to report the deal 😂

Harbaugh seems expected to still do his interviews with the Titans and Falcons before making a decision.
But Giants fans wouldn't mind if he just chose to take the gig now without waiting any longer -- or at least when Verizon allows it to be completed and reported.
