The New York Giants made headlines this week, benching veteran quarterback Russell Wilson after an 0-3 start and poor offensive play, and thrusting rookie Jaxson Dart into the starting role.
And the move paid dividends in Week 4, with Dart helping lead New York to a 21-18 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, who were 3-0.
Dart didn't set the world on fire, going 13 of 20 for 111 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 54 yards and a touchdown to complete his debut in decent fashion.
Speaking post-game about his performance, Dart made sure to make mention of two veterans who had helped him get ready for his debut - Wilson and Jameis Winston.
“Obviously want to give a big shout-out to Russ,” Dart said. “I know that this week probably wasn't the easiest thing, but he handled it like a professional and just was a mentor for me. So, obviously just have a ton of respect for him, and it goes for Jameis as well just getting me prepared for this week.”

Giants finally get first win, but suffer brutal Malik Nabers blow
Getting that first win will release the pressure valve for head coach Brian Daboll and his team, but the feel-good vibes created from it might not last long.
Why? Receiver Malik Nabers suffered a suspected torn ACL when going up for a deep ball in the second quarter and didn't return to the game, just as the Giants looked to have something cooking with Dart.
While there are still tests to be done, it is expected that Nabers will miss the rest of the season with Dart beginning his era as the Giants' starting quarterback with a bang.
But now he might be without his No. 1 weapon for the rest of the season.
