Jaxson Dart had to watch in Week 11. The New York Giants went with Jameis Winston as their starting quarterback due to Dart's concussion.

The season is a lost cause from a record perspective, but the Giants would surely like to get Dart as much development as possible going forward.

In Week 12, the Giants play at the Detroit Lions. It's a tough environment against a defense with some playmakers (and an offense on the other side that will likely force New York to keep up).

Dart's availability appears to be moving in the right direction, but there's still one more step that needs to be taken.

Is Jaxson Dart playing this week?

Dart's status for playing in Week 12 for the Giants against the Lions is trending toward a yes, but he's not quite there yet.

The good news is that on Wednesday, the first officially reported practice of the week, Dart was a limited participant. As he went through concussion protocol last week, he hadn't participated at all.

The key indicator of Dart clearing concussion protocol, though, will be when he's listed as a full participant at practice.

So as long as Dart comes through either Thursday or Friday with the 'full' label, all should be good to go here.

The Giants seemingly would start Winston again over Russell Wilson if Dart can't go, although that's not been stated.

Dart is the more exciting option both for the on-field Giants and for fantasy football players, and his trend is moving in the right direction.
