The New York Giants, Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans all have one very clear thing in common: their head coaches are on seats hotter than the sun.
Brian Daboll is in his fourth season with Big Blue, and after making an unexpected run to the playoffs in 2022, the Giants went 9-25 in the two years after and sport an abysmal 1-4 record in 2025.
Also 1-4, the Dolphins are a dumpster fire this season after missing the playoffs in 2024 and the clock is ticking on Mike McDaniel, who may not last the season.
In Tennessee, Brian Callahan is only in his second season as a head coach, but the results have been disastrous. Tennessee is 4-18 under Callahan, who has also been incompetent in his duties.
With all three teams moving in the direction of firing their head coaches, The Sporting News' Vinnie Iyer has pegged all three as possible landing spots for embattled North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick.
Things have been a disaster in Chapel Hill for the former New England Patriots Super Bowl-winning head coach. As a result, there appears to be at least a chance he won't make it past this season.
There didn't seem to be much interest in Belichick before he left for college, but the aforementioned teams would be hard-pressed to pass on him after failing with first-time head coaches.
Belichick's history with the Giants is well-documented. He won two Super Bowls as the team's defensive coordinator in the 80s. It's not crazy to think owner John Mara could turn to Belichick to help right the ship.
The Titans have gone down the Patriot way once already after hiring Mike Vrabel and it proved to be mostly successful for Tennessee. Going down that road one more time could be in the cards for a Titans team that desperately need stability.
At 73, Belichick probably wouldn't mind taking a trip down to South Beach, where he could live out the rest of his coaching days in a nice, warm climate. The Dolphins lack discipline and Belichick would bring that in spades.
If we had to guess, a reunion with the Giants feels most likely for Belichick, but we couldn't totally rule out the other two teams, either, as Belichick will probably be happy to land any job in the NFL after his nightmare stint in North Carolina.
