The New York Giants wanted to solve their quarterback woes a year ago.
They had two targets in the NFL Draft that would've been great decisions.
One was Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. The other? Commanders superstar Jayden Daniels.
How ESPN explained it:
"Per sources with knowledge of the Giants' draft strategy, they would have traded up for Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye in 2024 if Washington and New England were amenable."

Maye would've been an interesting outcome.
But if the Giants got Daniels, NFL history will be entirely changed.
Instead of him leading the Commanders to postseason success in his rookie season, the Giants would be the on-the-rise team.
Malik Nabers likely wouldn't be in New York, either, which means the Giants would've had to find pass catching talent somewhere else.
It by no means would've been perfect.
But instead of tracking down Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and rookie Jaxson Dart, the Giants had a chance to have eliminated this issue 365 days ago.
They didn't know, and the beat goes on forever.
