It looks like we're going to have the pleasure of watching New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo regularly running over people in Week 5.
The Giants dropped their final injury report of Week 5 on Friday afternoon and it listed running back Tyrone Tracy as doubtful to play, which means he's highly unlikely to go thanks to his shoulder issue.
Meanwhile, Skattebo, who practiced in full all week despite being listed with a knee injury, was removed from the injury report and carries no designation.
The Arizona State product and fourth-round pick tallied a career-high 25 carries in the Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and with Tracy out once again, we can expect him to get a similar amount of work.
Skattebo turned those 25 carries into just 79 yards, which amounts to only 3.2 yards per carry. Even still, those were 79 bruising yards and the rookie no doubt helped wear down Los Angeles' defense in the process.
Skattebo even shined as a blocker on rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart's touchdown run, something he was fired up about on the sideline afterwards.
There is no question Skattebo has looked better than you'd expect for a mid-round pick this early, and he's even one of the highest-graded rookies in the entire league, per Pro Football Focus, and the highest-graded running back, regardless of experience.
Truth be told, Skattebo has played well enough that he should continue to have a big role once Tracy returns from injury. It'll be fun to see more of the duo, also, as they are excellent complements to one another.
