Juwan Johnson stole the tight end show in Week 1.
The New Orleans Saints' TE had Cardinals star Trey McBride on the opposite side, but it was Johnson with the big game.
It's made him a popular fantasy football waiver wire target, and it's also raised the question for Saints fans: How good can Johnson be?
He's been a bit of a niche fan favorite in recent years as a big and athletic target.
Now, he might be looking at a breakout.

Juwan Johnson stats, fantasy outlook
In Week 1, Johnson finished with eight catches for 76 yards. And he nearly had a touchdown, but in that picture at the top of this article, Johnson ended up having the ball jarred loose after initially reeling in a tough one in traffic.
Johnson had 11 targets, a hugely encouraging mark.
Saints coach Kellen Moore called on Spencer Rattler to throw 46 passes, so Johnson approaching double-digit targets isn't crazy if that passing volume keeps up.

Rattler's workload came in a game that was mostly close. The Saints are expected to lose big at times this year, which could only help there be more passes thrown.
Johnson has always been solid on a per-catch basis, but the Saints have often had crowded tight end situations in recent years involving guys like Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau. Those two players are hurt, so for now, Johnson is the only show in town.
He's worth a speculative add in fantasy leagues, for sure. If he sees this many targets or close to it again next week, that's exactly the kind of volume needed for Johnson to make his mark.
