The New Orleans Saints are entering a Week 17 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, with little to play for other than further confirmation that Tyler Shough is the guy.
He's more than proven his worth so far, and if he can finish his 2025 season strong, then the Saints can move forward with confidence in their new franchise QB. One of the main reasons Shough's thrived is his connection with Chris Olave.
But, with a limited Friday practice ahead of Week 17, there was some concern over Olave's status for the Titans matchup. According to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football, Saints fans can rest easy, as Olave is expected to play this weekend in Tennessee.
Saints get good news on Chris Olave for Week 17
"I'm told Chris Olave (back) being limited in practice was just precautionary," Underhill reports. "He's expected to be a full go on Sunday."
The Saints will be without Alvin Kamara, but their other top offensive piece, Olave, is likely to suit up for the Titans matchup.
Looking for a contract extension, Olave is trying to finish the year strong. While he's shown a strong rapport with Shough, closing out the year on a high note would be a great way to finish his fourth season in the NFL.
The 25-year-old, dealing with a back injury, was limited at Friday's practice. That isn't expected to stop him from playing, as Olave is still expected to play for the Saints.

So far this season, Olave has 92 receptions for 1,044 yards and eight touchdowns. He's a major Pro Bowl snub, one of the worst, and he can further prove that to be true with a great Week 17 performance.
He's coming off his best game of the year, with 10 catches on 16 targets for 148 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Jets.
Despite this late-week limited practice, the Saints' wide receiver is likely to suit up for New Orleans against a beatable Titans defense.
