The New Orleans Saints, over the last few seasons, have had one of the more interesting players on their roster, Taysom Hill.
He's been used as a tight end, running back, and at times, a quarterback. He's been involved in the offense in many different ways, including in the Saints' blowout win over the New York Jets in Week 16.
As NFL Senior Researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming shared, Hill's performance this week has him joining John David Crow in some odd, but fitting NFL history.
Taysom Hill surpasses John David Crow in odd, but fitting NFL history
"Most games with a completed pass, a rush attempt, and a reception," Koplowitz-Fleming notes, "Taysom Hill: 23. John David Crow: 22."
Hill had been tied with Crow for this NFL record, and while it's an odd one, it's a very fitting record for Hill to now own.
In games where a player has recorded a rushing attempt, a reception, and a pass attempt, Hill now stands alone atop NFL history, beating Crow's record by one game.
Against the Jets in Week 16, Hill threw one pass, a 38-yard touchdown to Chris Olave, ran the ball 12 times for 42 yards, and caught four of six targets for 36 yards.

He was second only to Olave for overall production in Week 16, and helped the Saints blow out the Jets 29-6. It was a dominant win, and Hill got to show off his versatility.
Crow no longer holds the NFL record, as the College Football Hall of Famer and four-time Pro Bowler in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers, and Cardinals (with Chicago and St. Louis), now is second all-time in games with one rush, one catch, and one pass attempt.
It's an odd record, but it's an incredibly fitting one for Hill to hold. There has not been a more unique player in the NFL in recent years, as Hill can completely take over a game with his versatility, just like he did for the Saints in Week 16 against the Jets.
