The New Orleans Saints are 2-9, and looking poised to select inside the top five of the 2026 NFL Draft. Kellen Moore, in his first year, is rebuilding the team, and a few of their moves so far this season have been emblematic of such a decision.

At the trade deadline, Rashid Shahaeed was traded to the Seattle Seahawks, and a few weeks later, veteran Brandin Cooks was cut by the team and will be heading to a new team to finish out the 2025 season.

But those moves have left the Saints thin in the wide receiver room. Ahead of Week 13, the Saints are making a minor roster move by adding a former Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, and Denver Broncos receiver to their team, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Saints sign former Packers, Bears, Broncos WR Samori Toure

According to Schefter, the Saints are adding Samori Toure to their practice squad. New Orleans is making some changes to their roster, as the lack of wide receiver depth is a real issue down the stretch.

Toure played two seasons with the Packers in 2022 and 2023, playing in 22 games total, hauling in 13 of his 28 targets for 160 yards and one touchdown in that two-season window.

Before coming to the Saints this season, Toure was with the Bears through the end of August, before he eventually joined the Broncos.

Denver released Toure at the end of October, freeing up the journeyman practice squad receiver to join a new team. He eventually joined the Saints, with the chance of playing in the NFL for the first time since 2023 on the table amid the shallow wide receiver room.

Chris Olave is the starter, while Devaugn Vele, Mason Tipton, and Kevin Austin Jr. Make up the rest of the wide receiver room.

Toure might not make it to the active roster in Week 13, but his presence should give the Saints some extra insurance if a receiver goes down due to injury or Moore wants to have a fifth receiver active on game days.
