Saints shockingly release All-Pro, and Alvin Kamara has an immediate NSFW response image

The New Orleans Saints open their season in less than a week.

But on Monday, they shockingly released an All-Pro.

J.T. Gray, a special teams ace, was cut on Monday afternoon. The news was broken in a post on X by beat reporter Nick Underhill.

Less than 10 minutes after Underhill broke the news, Saints star running back Alvin Kamara took to X to relay his thoughts in three letters:

"Wtf," wrote Kamara.

Gray has spent all seven of his NFL seasons with the Saints.

In 98 total games, he has 103 tackles. In 2024, he played 84.3% of the Saints' special teams snaps.

He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2021. That same season, he was first-team All-Pro.

Gray has also been a second-team All-Pro selection twice, in both 2019 and 2024.

It seems like there must be something else at play for the Saints to release a guy who was one of the best special teams players in the league as recently as last season.

This was the final season of Gray's current contract. He was due a base salary of $2.6 million.

He did have a hamstring injury reported in late July, but there wasn't any recent news on that.

Gray is 29 years old, and it'll be interesting to see how this story develops.

For now, the Saints are down one of their top specialists right before the season gets underway.
