The New Orleans Saints are coming off a 2025 season that began very poorly, but turned around the moment that Tyler Shough got to develop.
He's the future of the Saints, and with a lot more hope in New Orleans, building a better offensive line and supporting cast is paramount this offseason.
ESPN's Ben Solak predicts the Saints will do just that, and specifically, the Saints are predicted to sign away a Buffalo Bills offensive lineman to help protect Shough in 2026.
Saints predicted to sign Bills OL David Edwards
"The Saints will sign ex-Bills guard David Edwards to a big deal," Solak writes, "as he's the lone exciting player who could be available in the guard market."
New Orleans has found their offensive tackles of the future in Kelvin Banks Jr. At left tackle and Taliese Fuaga at right tackle. But the interior of the line needs some help.
Erik McCoy should be back next season, and Cesar Ruiz will be a quality guard. But their left guard spot could use an upgrade, and in steps Edwards as a great option.

Edwards has been one of the better offensive linemen this season, and he's helped protect Josh Allen and lead the way for James Cook to be the NFL's leading rusher in 2025.
The Saints are always dealing with some cap complications, but clearing room and moving money around to sign Edwards would make a lot of sense.
Getting the best possible protection for Shoguh is priority number one this offseason, and Edwards would fit the bill of such an addition.
While offensive line moves don't get the same level of excitement as wide receiver, running back, tight end, or quarterback additions, Edwards would be a free agent signing that Saints fans could get excited about.
