Saints get good and bad news on Cameron Jordan's future with New Orleans image

The New Orleans Saints' offseason plans will revolve around building a better offense around Tyler Shough as he enters year two, and that could include a Chris Olave extension, more wide receiver help, and some overall offensive improvements.

But the offensive side of the ball isn't the only area with some major needs to address. This offseason, the futures of Demario Davis and Cameron Jordan are very much up in the air.

Of the two, Jordan's future is the one most at stake, with Davis likely to return. According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, the update on Jordan is a mixed bag of both good and bad news.

Saints update on Cameron Jordan is good and bad news

"He could very well decide to retire," Graziano writes. "If he doesn't, will he fit into the Saints' 2026 cap picture? That picture is cloudy as always, but it's impossible to imagine Jordan in a different uniform -- and I think he feels the same way. Either he retires or they find a way to bring him back."

This update from Graziano is a combination of both good and bad news. First, the good news is that Jordan, if he doesn't retire, would only be coming back to play for the Saints.

Fans can rest easy knowing that Jordan likely will never don a different uniform than the Saints for his incredible NFL career.

But the bad news is that Jordan is very much considering retirement. He's not made a decision just yet, and while there is hope he comes back, the threat of retirement is very real.

He just hada very strong 2025 season, recording 10.5 sacks and 47 tackles with 15 tackles for loss in his best season since he was last a Pro Bowler in 2022.

The 36-year-old defensive lineman has made eight Pro Bowls in his 15-year NFL career, and very well could be retiring this offseason.

But if he doesn't, then Saints fans should expect New Orleans' front office to make something work to bring back the beloved veteran for at least one more season.
