Saints' Cam Jordan says 'declare' Bijan Robinson MVP ahead of Falcons game image

While the MVP award is most often reserved for the quarterback who puts together the strongest season, New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan has no hesitation when it comes to naming the NFL’s best player.

The Saints will look to extend their winning streak Sunday when they travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons.

Although the matchup carries no playoff implications, both teams enter the game with momentum. New Orleans is riding a four-game winning streak, while Atlanta has won three straight, with both offenses surging in recent weeks.

“(Atlanta) just had a hell of a win against the Rams,” Jordan told reporters Thursday. “Kirk Cousins, of course, he's getting the ball out faster than any quarterback right now.”

Still, Jordan pointed to one Falcons playmaker who presents the biggest challenge for any defense.

“Bijan Robinson is running like he's a Heisman Trophy candidate,” Jordan said. “At this point, we might as well declare him MVP. Without him, their offense would be a little stagnant.”

The 23-year-old showcased his impact in Atlanta’s win over Los Angeles, rushing for 195 yards on 22 carries with a touchdown while also adding 34 receiving yards and a score. The week before, he hauled in 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.

On the season, Robinson has piled up 1,445 rushing yards, fourth-most in the NFL, along with seven rushing touchdowns. He has also been a major factor in the passing game, ranking second in the league with 810 receiving yards and adding four touchdown catches.
