Saints' Alvin Kamara shuts down trade rumors with hilarious comment image

The New Orleans Saints are 1-5 and are coming off a tough loss to the New England Patriots in Week 6 of the NFL season. With New Orleans heading towards another losing season, there are plenty of trade rumors about Saints players this season.

One of the most prominent players frequently named as a trade candidate is running back Alvin Kamara. The 30-year-old running back would be a great pickup for a lot of running back-needy teams, hence the trade rumors surrounding Kamara's name.

But, during media availability ahead of the Saints' Week 7 matchup against the Chicago Bears, Kamara was asked about the trade rumors about him. In response, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune shared Kamara's hilarious comment on his trade rumors.

Alvin Kamara hilariously shuts down trade rumors

"I don't know where that came from," Kamara said. "But I don't want to go anywhere, and I've said it countless times. Ya'll know that, I think everybody knows that, the fan base knows that. ... If I was a GM, I guess I would go to the player and say, 'Hey, we're trading you, just so you know.' So if Mickey (Loomis) comes down and says that,  I'm going to go drink a piña colada somewhere."

Kamara is adamant that he doesn't want to be traded, so much so that he said if he is moved, he'll just leave to drink piña coladas somewhere. His feelings on a trade have been clear: he doesn't want to be moved for any reason.

Even though there are plenty of trade rumors, these comments, along with his prior ones about not wanting to be moved, all but shut down the possibility of a trade.

The five-time Pro Bowl running back, in his ninth year in the NFL, doesn't want to leave the Saints. He's been in New Orleans his entire career, and he's planning to keep it that way.

So far this season, through six games, Kamara has 314 rushing yards and one touchdown on 83 attempts. Through the air, he has 22 receptions for 122 yards.

While he's not producing the same elite numbers he did through the first few seasons of his NFL career, Kamara is still a great running back. Paired with Keandre Miller, the Saints have a strong duo in their backfield this season.

Kamara is signed through the 2026 season, so even if the Saints don't trade him by this year's trade deadline, they could try and convince him to be moved next year. But for now, Kamara doesn't want to go anywhere, jokingly threatening any team that tries to acquire him that he'd rather retire and drink piña coladas instead of playing for them.

Amid the trade rumors, it's a hilarious way for Kamara to shut down trade speculation. The longtime Saints running back doesn't want to go anywhere, and he expressed so in hilarious fashion three weeks away from the trade deadline.
