The New Orleans Saints, at 1-7, could be heading to 1-8 with a Week 9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. At such a record, selling off some veterans on expiring contracts makes a lot of sense.
One such player who has been mentioned in trade rumors frequently is wide receiver Rashid Shaheed. The speedster receiver is drawing a lot of interest and is the more likely receiver on the Saints to be moved.
According to Saints insider Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, when an AFC team came calling for Shaheed, Mickey Loomis set a high asking price of a Day-2 draft pick for the 27-year-old receiver.
Saints' asking price for Rashid Shaheed revealed by NFL insider
"Heard they asked an AFC team for a third." Underhill posted on Twitter/X. "See if the price changes once the deadline comes."

This report from Underhill came in response to an article on how Shaheed is believed to be available at the 2025 Tuesday NFL trade deadline.
The fourth-year receiver is drawing a lot of trade interest at the deadline this season. He's a deep-threat, and would be a great pickup for a contender at the 2025 deadline.
Of the wide receiver-needy teams, three stand out that are all vying for receiver help. All three are from the AFC. First, the Denver Broncos, who have been scouring the market for receiver help, would be a great fit with Sean Payton for Shaheed.

The Buffalo Bills are another team to monitor, as their receiver room has been disappointing this season, and Shaheed would make for a great deep threat for Josh Allen in Buffalo.
Lastly, the Pittsburgh Steelers are another strong contender for Shaheed. DK Metcalf is a big-bodied receiver, and with their heavy tight end personnel, adding a speedster like Shaheed would help shake up the Steelers offense led by Aaron Rodgers.
So far this season, the Saints receiver has 39 receptions for 431 yards and two touchdowns, including an 87-yarder against the New York Giants.
New Orleans is likely to listen to offers, and with a clear asking price of a third-round pick, teams like the Bills, Broncos, and Steelers will have to weigh whether the price tag is worth it or not.
