The New England Patriots held a 21-0 lead over the Buffalo Bills in the second quarter, and it looked as if they were on their way to celebrating with hats and t-shirts after clinching their first AFC East championship since 2019. Unfortunately for New England, the Bills outscored them 35-10 the rest of the way and pulled within one game of the Patriots for the division lead.
While the loss is certainly a tough pill to swallow, wide receiver Stefon Diggs sees the silver lining, saying it was a loss that the Patriots needed.
“I wouldn’t say we forgot (how to lose)," Diggs said via CLNS Media. "You never know. We probably needed it… it’s good for us. I kinda said it at the beginning of the year. Lessons.”
The Patriots still hold the lead in the AFC East, and can put a bow on the division as long as they take care of their business. That starts in Week 16 against the Baltimore Ravens - a team that sits at 7-7 and hasn't looked like itself all season. While it's a road game, it would be a big win for New England to get one step closer to a division title.
