The Houston Texans and New England Patriots will meet at Gillette Stadium on Sunday for the first of two divisional-round games on the day.

In the midst of winter, it's always worth keeping an eye on the forecast ahead of games, as weather can play a huge role in the outcomes of NFL contests.

Ahead of kickoff for the Patriots and Texans, there are a few concerns with the forecast, and it is especially troubling for Houston.

Let's take a closer look to see what those concerns are.

Patriots vs. Texans weather forecast

According to Accuweather.com, the temperature is expected to be in the mid-30s for the contest, which could impact both teams, but especially the Texans, a dome team that isn't used to playing in cold weather.

There is also a winter weather advisory and snow is expected throughout the contest. That will make for slick conditions that can affect both footing and gripping the football.

The only good news is that the wind won't be a factor, with gusts not expected to exceed nine MPH. Wind gusts start becoming an issue at around 20 MPH.

All in all, it's not a great weather situation for this game and Mother Nature could definitely play a role in the outcome on Sunday.

The Patriots and Texans will kick off from Gillette Stadium at 3 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC.
