Patriots' Stefon Diggs joined Julian Edelman in New England record books with huge game vs. Bills image

The New England Patriots, just maybe, just possibly, might be back.

The case can be made after the Pats' impressive Sunday Night Football win over the Buffalo Bills.

At the center of it all? Stefon Diggs.

The former Bills star put on a show back in Buffalo. After the game, he made clear that he's a big fan of Josh Allen, his former QB. But on the field, Diggs clearly wanted to win this game.

Diggs went for 10 catches and 146 yards, an incredible performance.

In the process, he matched Julian Edelman in the record books.

Edelman was the last Patriots player to have consecutive 100-yard games in the same season, according to ESPN. He did that in 2019.

Diggs has now put up back-to-back century mark outings.

He also made his own bit of personal history.

Diggs finished with 61 yards after the catch on Sunday night. He hadn't had that many since 2022, when he had 62 YAC in a game for the Bills, again according to ESPN.

The veteran wide receiver knows what it takes to win in the AFC East. That's what he did every season he spent with the Bills.

A short sojourn to the Houston Texans for 2024 didn't quite work out. The Bills traded Diggs there, and in his eighth game, he had a season-ending knee injury.

Free agency brought Diggs to the Pats, where he'd have a chance to play twice each season against the Bills.

And in the first such matchup, it was Diggs who definitely got the last laugh.
