The New England Patriots have added some serious experience.
Not for the field, but instead on the sideline.
Cam McCormick is joining the Patriots as a scouting assistant, according to Ari Meirov.
McCormick is famous for using nine years of college football eligibility for various injury reasons.
The big tight end first enrolled at Oregon in 2016, when he redshirted.
In 2017, he started two games for the Ducks.
In 2018, he broke his left leg, then in 2019, he had issues with an ankle screw that lingered for years.
By the 2020 COVID season, McCormick needed ankle reconstruction.
In 2021, he tore his Achilles.

McCormick came back in 2022 and caught three touchdowns.
He transferred to Miami for 2023 and played two seasons with the Hurricanes. He caught three more TDs in 2024.
So yeah, McCormick has seen a lot of football. He's 27 years old, and now he'll try to use his experience to add some scouting acumen to the Pats.
