The New England Patriots are going to be on the clock pretty early on Thursday night.
New England has the No. 4 pick and will make its first selection in the 2025 National Football League Draft right after the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants make theirs. Who will the Patriots take? Well, that depends on how the three teams in front of them pick. There's a lot up in the air right now and it's going to be an interesting night.
This pick has been talked about a lot, but there are more prospects out there who will help as well beyond just the first round. Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox shared a column on Wednesday in which they proposed hypothetical trades for each franchise. This obviously could be a way to add more talent if the Patriots wanted to go this direction. Knox suggested a deal for a second-round pick from the Las Vegas Raiders.
"Patriots Get: 2025 2nd-round pick (No. 61)," Knox said. "Raiders Get: 2025 3rd-round pick (No. 77), 2025 4th-round pick (No. 106). The New England Patriots might have the ability to move around the board early in the first round. However, it feels increasingly likely that New England will simply scoop up LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell with the fourth overall selection...

"In this hypothetical deal, the Patriots pair the third-round pick they got from Atlanta in the Matthew Judon trade with a fourth-rounder to move into the bottom of Round 2. That selection could then be used to grab a prospect who could help support second-year quarterback Drake Maye as a rookie, like Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson or Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin Jr."
The Patriots have a lot of exciting, young talent and did a good job in free agency so far. Adding a second-round pick would give the team another chance at a high-end piece. For a team trying to rebuild, there aren't many better ways to do so.
