Patriots' Kayshon Boutte, Christian Gonzalez get bad injury updates before Week 2 image

The New England Patriots need a bounceback win in a big way in Week 2.

To do so, they need to get healthy.

Wednesday's injury report wasn't the best sign for that.

The superstar of the bunch is cornerback Christian Gonzalez. He hasn't practice since July 28, and that remained true. His hamstring injury still has him on the sideline.

“He’s continuing to improve, which is positive, and working hard, but I don’t think we’ll see him today on the practice field,” Vrabel told reporters. “So again, just working hard and keep improving, staying engaged, still preparing as a starter, asking questions in the meetings and all those things. So, that’s where we’re at today.”

The most notable offensive player on the report was wide receiver Kayson Boutte, who was a lone bright spot in Week 1. He was limited Wednesday with a shoulder injury.

The Patriots were entirely without edge player Harold Landry with a foot injury. Fully out of Wednesday's practice as well were right tackle Morgan Moses (foot) and defensive lineman Keion White (illness).

Joining Boutte in being limited were linebackers Christian Elliss (shoulder) and Marte Mapu (neck) and cornerback Charles Woods (groin).

The Pats get an opportunity to win this week when they travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins, who are coming off a blowout loss to the Colts. Whichever team finds a way to fix its mistakes most efficiently will have a good chance of coming out on top.
