Drake Maye has joined Tom Brady in New England Patriots history.
In the process, he's also joined in on a great omen for a potential Super Bowl for the Pats.
On Sunday night, Maye became the second Patriots QB in franchise history to throw for more than 250 yards in a postseason debut, according to Real Sports.
And yes, that's a very basic stat. But it contains a deeper meaning to those who might believe in history repeating itself.
Brady threw for 312 yards in his postseason debut, a 16-13 overtime win over the Raiders in January 2002, the "Tuck Rule game."

The Patriots won their next two games as well to claim the Super Bowl.
So does that mean a Super Bowl is coming for Maye?
He threw for 268 yards to beat the Chargers on Sunday night, making maybe the biggest difference by running 10 times for 66 yards.
There were no rules controversy for Maye, and no overtime, either. The Patriots' defense pretty much shut down the Chargers and Justin Herbert.

The next game Brady played in his initial playoff run was against the Steelers. Maye would also take on Pittsburgh if the Steelers win on Monday night against the Texans.
Ironically, Brady threw for just 260 yards combined in the following two playoff games after that scintillating debut. But the ending was the Lombardi Trophy, and then as now, that's all Patriots fans would be thinking about.
