The Minnesota Vikings may have to turn to a rookie quarterback in Week 13.

They've entered J.J. McCarthy into concussion protocol on Sunday. His backup is Max Brosmer.

Brosmer is a relative unknown, but if McCarthy doesn't clear the protocol, it'd be Brosmer getting the start on Sunday in Seattle against the Seahawks.

Here's what you need to know about Brosmer:

Who is Max Brosmer?

Max Brosmer is a 24-year old rookie quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings.

He's originally from Davenport, Iowa. He then lived in Toronto in Canada before spending his scholar-athlete years in Roswell, Georgia.

Brosmer measures up at 6-foot-2 and 218 pounds.

Where did Max Brosmer go to college?

Max Brosmer began his college career at New Hampshire.

Brosmer spent 2019-2023 with the Wildcats and started from the time he was a true freshman.

In his final season at New Hampshire, Brosmer was an FCS All-American on the first team.

That earned Brosmer a transfer to the University of Minnesota, where he spent a single season with the Golden Gophers.

When was Max Brosmer drafted?

Brosmer wasn't drafted.

He went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft before signing with the Vikings.
