The Minnesota Vikings wanted to sign another running back to their roster before Week 18.

The snowy, windy weather across the Midwest helped their cause.

Their new signing is Sincere McCormick, with the news reported Wednesday morning by NFL insider Aaron Wilson.

But McCormick's signing wasn't the only thing Wilson reported -- he added that McCormick had been stranded at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport overnight after a tryout with the Jets. And in that window, he was instead rerouted to Minnesota to workout for the Vikings, who chose to sign him.

Maybe it still would've happened if McCormick hadn't conveniently been in an airport when the Vikings called, but maybe not.

McCormick is a 25-year old running back who played his college football at Texas-San Antonio (UTSA).

He broke into the NFL in 2024 as an undrafted player, appearing in five games for the Las Vegas Raiders.

With the Raiders, McCormick ran 39 times for 183 yards and caught six passes for 29 yards.

The Raiders cut McCormick in August, before this season began.

He has since spent time on the practice squad with the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos. None of those teams elevated McCormick for a gameday.

Now, he'll try to show the Vikings something positive here in this last week of the regular season, with his cause helped by some inclement weather in Chicago.
