The Minnesota Vikings have their quarterback of the future.
That's J.J. McCarthy, of course, the 2024 No. 10 overall pick out of Michigan.
But they've got another future QB prospect on the roster, the undrafted Max Brosmer.
And there's some intriguing potential there, too.
Brosmer spent all but the last season of his college career at New Hampshire, then closed it out right there in Minnesota with the Golden Gophers.
"One thing about going to training camps that is underrated: listening to a really good group of beat writers talk about players coaches love," writes The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue. "And in Minnesota, one of them is Brosmer, who made it through cuts and a reshuffling of the backup QB position and now is firmly on a developmental track with the Vikings — albeit low on their depth chart."

Added The Athletic's Alec Lewis: “There is something real here. Maybe it’s a 10-year career as a backup. Perhaps it’s more.”
If the Vikings have already unearthed their long-term backup to McCarthy, that's a great deal.
If they've found a guy who could eventually be traded for assets or even, in a slightly less predictable future, be their next starter, that'd be a crucial development, too.

For now, Brosmer gets to learn. The Vikings signed Carson Wentz to be the direct backup to McCarthy, and he can be a solid veteran teacher to both of the younger QBs in the room.
But don't forget the name Brosmer. He could matter down the road, one way or another.
