Vikings' Max Brosmer would've had a better quarterback rating if he spiked the ball every play image

The reviews on Max Brosmer coming out of the preseason were positive.

This undrafted rookie QB out of the University of Minnesota looked like he might have a future somewhere on the Minnesota Vikings depth chart.

But pressed into duty, still in his rookie season, for a start in front of the loud Seattle fanbase, Brosmer had a nightmare debut.

He went 19-for-30 for 126 yards and threw four interceptions.

One of the picks was particularly bad: Brosmer was trying to escape a sack and threw an underhand pass a bit down the field, and Seattle's Ernest Jones IV stepped in front of it and returned it 84 yards for a pick-six.

Brosmer actually would've had a better quarterback rating on this day if he spiked the ball on every play.

That was the same case for J.J. McCarthy a week ago.

So it isn't just Brosmer.

But man, it looks like the Vikings have a quarterback problem.

Will it get better with the players they currently have on the roster? That doesn't seem to be a given at this point.
