It's now or never for Minnesota Vikings superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

It's Week 18, and JJ still doesn't have 1,000 receiving yards for the season.

That's a mark he wants. He's at 947 entering the finale against the Green Bay Packers, who will likely be resting a number of starters with their team locked into the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoff standings.

The Vikings won't be in the playoffs, so there's not much left to accomplish. But it's a chance to get Jefferson a milestone.

"Reaching the milestone is important to him," ESPN's Kevin Seifert wrote this week. "He has done it in each of his previous five seasons, including in 2023, when he missed seven games because of a hamstring injury. He hasn't missed a game this season and has played 95% of the Vikings' offensive snaps. Players and coaches want him to get it, too. But the team's offensive struggles this season have left him with fewer than 50 receiving yards in seven of his past nine games."

The Vikings do have J.J. McCarthy back at quarterback this week, which should help Jefferson's chances relative to Max Brosmer throwing the ball.

It's still not expected to be a prolific passing offense. But given the Vikings really want to get Jefferson to this number, and that he himself wants to get there, it seems pretty safe to assume they'll make a very concerted effort to get it done.

It's been a disappointing season all around in Minnesota. They have an extremely expensive roster, but quarterback play has let the Vikings down.

They just hope the QB can come through for Jefferson in Week 18.
