The Minnesota Vikings are now 3-2 after a last-minute victory over the Cleveland Browns in London. Carson Wentz connected with wide receiver Jordan Addison with less than a minute to play in regulation for a touchdown, which proved to be the game-winning score in a 21-17 win.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted that Addison didn't take the field in the first quarter, and ESPN's Kevin Seifert made note of it on X.
"Jordan Addison is heading onto the field," Seifert posted in the second quarter. "So this was a first-quarter benching, due to what the Vikings say was a coach's decision."
Head coach Kevin O'Connell revealed the reason why Addison was held out.
"Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said WR Jordan Addison missed a walkthrough this week, and that's why he was benched for the 1st quarter today," Ari Meirov reports. "Addison ended up scoring the game-winning TD in the game."
Addison previously served a three-game suspension to start the year due to a DUI. He finished the day with five catches for 41 yards and that game-winning score.
