J.J. McCarthy injury update: Latest news on Vikings QB's status in Week 16 game image

The Minnesota Vikings appear to have an injury concern with quarterback J.J. McCarthy at the end of the first half of the Week 16 game against the New York Giants.

McCarthy appears to have suffered his injury in the second quarter. He headed to the locker room before the end of the first half, allowing rookie Max Brosmer to kneel the half out.

UPDATE: McCarthy has been ruled out for the rest of the game, the Vikings have announced. It is indeed a hand injury.

UPDATE: Yes, it is definitely some kind of right hand injury, based on video from the television broadcast.

That did not look good. We'll probably get an update on McCarthy before the second half begins.
