The Minnesota Vikings don't have Aaron Jones for a third-straight game in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns, as the veteran continues to work his way back from injury.
Jones sustained a hamstring injury in Week 2 and hasn't played since. In that span, backup and free-agent signing Jordan Mason has taken the reins of the backfield.
So, how long will Jones be out? Here's what we know.
How long is Aaron Jones out?
Jones was placed on injured reserve ahead of the Week 3 game, so he's going to miss at least four contests. That puts his possible return at Week 8 because the Vikings have a bye in Week 6 (bye weeks don't count toward a four-week IR stay).
So far, there has been nothing to indicate Jones won't be back when first eligible.
Outside of his fumble in Week 5 against the Browns, Mason had been playing good football for the Vikings. His best game came in Week 3, when he torched the Cincinnati Bengals for 116 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Minnesota also has Cam Akers and Zavier Scott to help fill the void.
