Do Vikings have a 2nd round pick? Updated draft board, expert predictions for Minnesota on Day 2 image

The Minnesota Vikings fell in love with Ohio State’s Donovan Jackson during the pre-draft process. His ability to switch from guard to left tackle midseason and dominate during the Buckeyes’ run to the national title solidified his spot on the Vikings’ draft board.

That pick does come with a ripple effect, however, as the Vikings now hold just three picks over the final six rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft. Minnesota does not have a second-round pick this year, as that selection was sent to Houston last offseason in a pre-draft trade package that ultimately turned into EDGE rusher Dallas Turner.

As a result, the Vikings hold just one Day 2 selection, and it won’t come until the compensatory portion of the third round. Here’s an updated look at Minnesota’s 2025 draft capital entering Friday night:

Minnesota Vikings 2025 Draft Board

  • Round 1 — No. 24 overall (Donovan Jackson, OL, Ohio State)
  • Round 2 — No selections
  • Round 3 — No. 97 overall (compensatory pick)
  • Round 4 — No selections
  • Round 5 — No. 139 overall
  • Round 6 — No. 187 overall
  • Round 7 — No selections

While Minnesota has needs on defense, such as defensive tackle, boundary cornerback and safety, it’s hard to argue the team’s decision to take Jackson at No. 24 overall. He should enter training camp as the favorite to start at left guard, with the ability to kick outside if franchise LT Christian Darrisaw needs additional time in his comeback from a 2024 ACL tear.

Experts believe the Vikings will turn their focus to Brian Flores' defense in Round 3. Here’s who NFL Draft analysts project to Minnesota at pick No. 97 overall:
