For Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, honesty may not always be the best policy.
While Tagovailoa has dealt with his share of struggles during Miami’s 0-2 start to the 2025 season, he’s drawing even more attention for his candid comments about Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen ahead of their upcoming matchup.
Tagovailoa entered the NFL two years after Allen, but as division rivals, the two have already faced off nine times. Now, before their 10th meeting, Tagovailoa may have been a little too transparent when comparing himself to the reigning league MVP.

What did Tua Tagovailoa say about Josh Allen?
Tagovailoa was extremely complimentary of his AFC East counterpart ahead of Week 3 of the 2025 season.
When asked about Allen's skillset, Tagovailoa had this to say:
Dude, he's top tier. If it's not with his arm, it's with his legs — that dude can do literally anything he wants. Definitely different skillset. For me, I can't do half of what he does when it comes to running the ball and any of that and then with how he can just chuck a ball down the field — with how far and the arm strength that he has — he's supreme when it comes to that. It's going to be fun to get to see him, to get to play him again, and we'll see.

Why Tua Tagovailoa is facing criticism for Josh Allen comments
Tagovailoa is now facing media criticism for being so candid in his assessment of the differences between himself and Allen.
Longtime Miami media voice Dan Le Batard addressed the comments on his radio show, where one of his co-hosts quipped that the Dolphins quarterback “needs to be injected with lie serum.”
The show took issue with Tagovailoa’s willingness to openly acknowledge his shortcomings.
