New reports claim the future of Dolphins' HC Mike McDaniel is undecided image

The Miami Dolphins have had one of the most interesting seasons in recent memory.

From injuries to the unexpected poor performances to starting the season at 1-6 and then eventually going on a four-game winning streak, including a blowout victory over the Buffalo Bills, before getting officially eliminated from playoff contention behind a poor performance from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. There have also been rumors about head coach Mike McDaniel's job security, but the overall feeling is that he will be brought back for another season.

However, after a new report on Monday, it may be time to pump the brakes on that. ESPN's Adam Schefter discussed the matter on the "Pat McAfee Show." Shefter went on to say, "I do not think they've made any decisions there yet about his future. He might be safe, he might not."

Shefter also suggested the team will play things out in real time, but that doesn't align with what was said before Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

Another known insider, Ian Rapport, claimed before the game that "barring some sort of surprise," McDaniel would be returning to the sidelines for the Dolphins.

Now, the Dolphins did go out and suffered a commanding loss to the Cincinnati Bengals 45-21 at home, but that shouldn't be looked down upon too much, considering the team was experimenting and looking forward to the future with rookie Quinn Ewers making his first NFL start.

As of right now, no official decision has been made by the organization, but the next couple of weeks could alter its franchise for many years to come.
