Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has found success since being a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Although he has dealt with a number of concussions, he cashed in on a massive four-year deal worth $212 million, which is big money for the former Alabama Crimson Tide star.
However, the same can't be said for his brother, Taulia Tagovailoa.
Taulia played college football at Maryland and went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He earned an invite to Seattle Seahawks minicamp a year ago, although he did not make the roster. After that, he wound up joining the Hamilton Tigers-Cats in the Canadian Football League.
On Sunday, the Tiger-Cats announced a series of roster moves, and one of them was Taulia Tagovailoa being released.
Tiger-Cats coach Scott Milanovich revealed why Tagovailoa was cut.
"It was just a fit. I think Lia (Taulia) has a lot of talent. I figure he has a chance...It was just a fit within what we’re looking for in this offense. He's a great id, I wish him well. It was hard to see him go."

Per the CFL website, Taulia Tagovailoa appeared in eight games but threw just one pass and had three carries for 10 yards and a score, so he wasn't seeing much playing time anyways.
Here's his first (and only) touchdown last year for the Tiger-Cats.
