The Miami Dolphins have been one of the NFL’s most disappointing teams so far this season. Among the most-watched names has been Tyreek Hill, especially after the comments he made last season. However, Hill has shown signs of a new mindset in 2025—one that reflects a serious level of maturity and leadership. Even following the Dolphins’ Thursday night loss to the Buffalo Bills, Hill took time to praise head coach Mike McDaniel for his leadership on the sidelines.
“His pi** was hot,” Tyreek Hill said of McDaniel. “The way he coached and the way he led men today was a beautiful thing.”
Despite the praise and his improved demeanor, Hill has remained a frequent name in trade rumors throughout the offseason. His massive contract and Miami’s overall struggles make a potential shake-up increasingly likely. In one trade proposal, Hill is sent to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he would join forces with one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.
“Wide receiver Tyreek Hill would be a logical trade chip for a couple of reasons. For one, Miami could save $36.3 million in cap space by releasing Hill in the offseason. Secondly, the Dolphins could be in the market for a new QB in the 2026 draft if the McDaniel-Tagovailoa pairing continues to flounder,” Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox wrote. “If Hill is available at a reasonable price, receiver-needy teams will be interested. Potential suitor: Pittsburgh Steelers.”
Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers has made it clear he’s a fan of DK Metcalf, who’s already on the roster. His praise of Metcalf highlights what kind of teammate Hill would be joining.
“He’s about the right stuff. He cares about it enough to watch the film and put in the time and take notes and ask questions and come over and sit next to me during the week … that’s unfortunately not the standard around the league,” Rodgers told the media.

Adding Hill to an offense that already features Metcalf would be explosive. It’s the kind of move that could immediately elevate Rodgers’ Super Bowl hopes in what may be his final NFL season.
If Hill continues to display leadership and maturity, he could become one of the most attractive names on the trade market. Though his reputation took a hit after last season, 2025 gives him a chance to rewrite the narrative—and possibly finish his career as a key piece on a true Super Bowl contender.
