The Miami Dolphins are making the trip up north to face the New York Jets for a Week 14 matchup that could have a big impact on the future of both franchises.

A win for the Dolphins would help keep Mike McDaniel's job safe, while a loss would put that future at risk, and the Jets' draft slot could drastically change based on the outcome.

For this Week 14 matchup in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the weather is going to come into play. ESPN Research highlighted just how the cold weather will come into play, mainly for Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins.

How Dolphins-Jets Week 14 weather will impact QBs Tua Tagovailoa, Tyrod Taylor

"The Dolphins have lost seven straight games (including playoffs) in sub-45-degree temperatures at kickoff, with their last win in those conditions on December 19, 2019, at New England," ESPN research highlighted.

Unfortunately for Tagovailoa and the Dolphins, at kickoff, it's going to be 40 degrees, which in the last seven such matchups has proven to be the Dolphins' downfall.

Tagovailoa has struggled this season, tied with Geno Smith for the most interceptions (14) in the NFL through 13 weeks.

While the Jets' defense hasn't gotten an interception yet this season, with the cold weather and the Dolphins' history in such environments, a pick is very possible.

Taylor hasn't been great either, throwing four interceptions in his four total starts this season. But the Jets' offense and Taylor are much more acclimated to the cold weather and should have the advantage over Miami in Week 14.

Tagovailoa is likely to struggle in Week 14 thanks to the cold weather, and while the Jets defense hasn't been as scary as it was before, the Dolphins and their quarterback are at a significant disadvantage in the Dolphins-Jets Week 14 matchup in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
