The Miami Dolphins will likely be undergoing some serious changes this offseason.

It remains to be seen whether head coach Mike McDaniel will be relieved of his duties, but there will obviously be a new general manager at the helm, with Chris Grier already out the door.

But according to one NFL insider, the Dolphins may have their pick of the litter in terms of candidates, with the job viewed as an attractive position.

Dianna Russini says Dolphins' GM position is viewed as 'exceptional'

The Athletic's NFL insider Dianna Russini reported the nugget on Miami's lead decision-maker position in her weekly column.

"We’re about three weird weeks away from convincing ourselves the Dolphins are Super Bowl contenders," wrote Russini.

"OK, I’ll stop … let’s not go bonkers. But speaking of the Dolphins, their general manager opening is getting lots of attention around the league, as it’s viewed as an exceptional front office opportunity by seasoned GMs. More on that in the weeks to come."

Clearly, there's more to the story than Russini is initially reporting here, but for now, this should give Dolphins fans some hope for the future.

Maybe it has something to do with the roster, as there are several talented players at key positions.

They have two uber-talented offensive playmakers in wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and running back De'Von Achane.

On defense, Miami has some talented players on the defensive line, including Chop Robinson, Zach Sieler, and Kenneth Grant.

With just a few moves and a new quarterback, the Dolphins could be right back as a playoff contender.
