The Miami Dolphins have already made one trade ahead of the NFL trade deadline. They shipped off Jaelan Philips to the Philadelphia Eagles, as the Dolphins' new general manager, Champ Kelly, begins what could be a busy trade deadline.

There are a lot of other players who could be on the move, with Jaylen Waddle and Bradley Chubb being two who've garnered a lot of interest.

But, according to a new report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Dolphins are open to moving safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and have been receiving some interest in their star safety.

Dolphins' Minkah Fitzpatrick garnering interest ahead of trade deadline

"Sources: The Dolphins have been open to trading 5x Pro Bowl S Minkah Fitzpatrick," Schultz reports, "and there has been interest from multiple teams."

The Dolphins, after trading Phillips, are beginning what could be a massive fire sale at the trade deadline. Fitzpatrick is now joining the trade rumors and could be on a new team in the next few days.

Fitzpatrick is an interesting player to be in trade rumors. He is signed through the 2026 season on a $73.6 million deal and will carry an $18.8 million cap hit in 2026 for the team acquiring him.

It's not a cheap contract by any means, but the 28-year-old safety could be a quality pickup for a team in need of help in the secondary. Miami has already traded Fitzpatrick once back in 2019, and could again look to move on from him again.

He was a huge piece of the Jalen Rams ey and Jonnu Smith trade, which hasn't panned out like the Dolphins had hoped. Chris Grier is out of a job now, and Champ Kelly is taking over as the interim general manager.

With their Phillips trade, as sell-off is clear. Fitzpatrick is garnering trade interest, and Miami has little reason to hold onto him if they can land decent compensation for the veteran Pro Bowl safety.
