The Miami Dolphins are entering this offseason with a lot of issues to address. From the new general manager to Mike McDaniel's future, Tua Tagovailoa's future, and so much more.
But one of the more pressing issues that needs to be resolved is what the Dolphins end up doing with Tyreek Hill. The superstar wide receiver might not be on the team next year, as his future is very much in doubt.
According to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques, the future of Hill is dependent on his $30 million deal, which could force Miami's hand this offseason with the star receiver.
Dolphins get $30 million update on Tyreek Hill
"... The Dolphins will have to make a decision on wide receiver Tyreek Hill's contract," Louis-Jacques writes. "... Considering he represents nearly $30 million cap hit in 2026, there's no way Hill returns on his current deal -- if at all."
This update from Louis-Jacques is a very notable one. While Hill's future in Miami was uncertain, this report suggests that there's no chance that Hill simply sticks on the roster.
If the Dolphins decide to bring Hill, who suffered a brutal dislocated knee early this season, back for the 2026 season, then his current deal won't be the one he's on next year.
A $30 million cap hit is far too much for the Dolphins to deal with, especially with the major Tagovailoa contract problem on the horizon.

Instead, the Dolphins are either going to cut, trade, or renegotiate his deal to make those decisions easier. He could stay in Miami, but that's not as likely as the Dolphins parting ways with Hill.
Louis-Jacques doesn't shut down a future of Hill in Miami, but he does lay down the firm line that any future, with or without Hill, won't involve his current $30 million cap hit.
Dolphins fans should expect some roster moves with Hill this offseason. Whether it's a cut, a trade, or a contract re-negotiation, Hill's status isn't going to stay as it is for the 2026 season.
