Is De'Von Achane playing today? Latest injury update on Dolphins RB for Week 18 image

The Miami Dolphins have a question mark at running back in Week 18, as De'Von Achane is uncertain to play.

Achane is dealing with a shoulder injury suffered in Week 17. He did not practice at all during the week before drawing the doubtful tag on Friday.

Here's what we know about his chances of suiting up in the Week 18 contest against the New England Patriots, which the Pats need to win in order to have an opportunity to secure the No. 1 seed in the conference.

Is De'Von Achane playing today?

No, Achane is not expected to play on Sunday against the Patriots, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

"Dolphins running back De'Von Achane and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle are not expected to play today’s regular-season finale at New England, per sources," he reported on Sunday morning.

No surprise there, as players rarely overcome the doubtful tag to play.

With Achane sidelined, the Dolphins will likely roll with a duo of running backs Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright out of the backfield.

The expectation is Gordon will serve as the lead back, as he has operated as the clear-cut No. 2 running back for the Dolphins this season.
