The Miami Dolphins entered this week with a question mark at the running back position in De'Von Achane.

Achane suffered a ribs injury in Week 14 that forced his early exit from the contest and he was listed on the injury report this week. The third-year back was a limited participant in practice on Thursday and Friday.

Ahead of the Dolphins dropping their final injury report of the week ahead of their contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, head coach Mike McDaniel revealed that he expects Achane to play.

McDaniel said Achane will play "as long as he doesn't have a setback," according to David Furones of the Sun Sentinel.

There were a few indications that Achane had a good chance to play, with the first being the fact that McDaniel admitted the running back could've returned to last week's game if needed.

"He was hurting, but he was available to come back in the game in an emergency," McDaniel said. "You worry about breaks -- that takes time. Didn't see that, but he will be getting treatment. He was available to come back in the game. I just chose not to put him in."

The fact that Achane was able to log a pair of limited sessions this week was another good sign.

There haven't been many positives for the Dolphins this season, but Achane has no doubt been one of them.

Achane has been the engine of the Dolphins' offense en route to posting a career-best 1,126 rushing yards. He is also in striking distance to post career-highs in receiving yards and rushing, receiving and total touchdowns.
