The Los Angeles Rams were ready to let Cooper Kupp leave this offseason.

Kupp walked away from the only NFL team he had ever known and didn't go far. He stayed in the NFC West Division, joining the Seattle Seahawks.

The Rams and Seahawks meet for the second time this season in Week 11 in a game that's huge for the conference and division races. Kupp will get his second chance to play his old squad.

The Rams replaced Kupp with Davante Adams, which has worked out just fine.

But it's still weird to see Kupp in other colors.

Why did the Rams let Cooper Kupp leave for the Seahawks?

The Rams spent a portion of this offseason exploring a trade for Cooper Kupp. No one made an offer that they wanted to take.

At that point, the Rams opted to release Kupp's big contract rather than keep him around (which helped free up space to sign Adams).

That set the Seahawks up to sign Kupp as a free agent. He was viewed as a help in replacing DK Metcalf, who was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kupp is from Yakima, Washington, so this was a chance to go back home.

"It is a full circle moment for sure," Kupp told NFL Network. " It has been cool. Seeing the community here, the people we know here already, really looking forward to just being able to move up here and get the family up here, just really cool, full circle moment.

"There was a lot of things that went into that. A longer process than I think we thought it would be. But I think one, we want to be able to win. We wanted to go somewhere we thought we could go and pursue a championship."

Cooper Kupp stats

Kupp hasn't been prolific so far this season for the Seahawks.

Through eight games, he has caught 26 passes for 367 yards and a single touchdown.
