The Los Angeles Rams are currently sitting at 3-2, tied for second place in the loaded NFC West.
While that record isn't bad on the surface, Los Angeles could easily be 5-0 if a few different plays had broken their way. They had a chance to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles, had a potential game-winning kick not been blocked and returned for a touchdown. They came up just a yard short in overtime against the division rival San Francisco 49ers just last week.
The common thread in both of these losses was the offense stalling at inopportune moments, and the only way to fix that would be to kick an already potent passing offense up a notch and provide a boost to the ground game.
Rams urged to trade for Jets running back Breece Hall
Kenneth Arthur of Turf Show Times proposed a trade where the Rams would acquire dual-threat running back Breece Hall from the winless New York Jets.
"Ironically, we’re talking about Hall a day after he has a huge, costly fumble against the Cowboys. Not great timing there. But Hall has WAY better ball security than Williams and is a better all-around running back. Hall had 14 carries for 113 yards against Dallas, one of his best career days, despite being on a terrible team," wrote Arthur.
He has Los Angeles shipping a 2026 sixth-round pick and second-year running back Blake Corum to New York in return for Hall.
While the Rams do have a solid runner in Kyren Williams, he has been prone to fumbling and may have even cost Los Angeles a win by coughing up the ball on the goal line against the Niners last week.
Hall would provide a new element to the Rams' offense, offering home run opportunities in the screen game that Williams just doesn't have in the tank.
Los Angeles could take a lot of pressure off of 37-year-old Matt Stafford if they were to make a move like this, and give their offense another layer of explosiveness with a two-headed monster in the backfield.
