The Los Angeles Rams have struggled a bit as of late, losing to the Seattle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons in back-to-back weeks. Matthew Stafford had some struggles in Week 17, but overall, he's been one of the bets QB's in the NFL.
Despite the recent losing streak, the Rams are a team few want to face in the playoffs, thanks to how great Stafford has been this season. He's one of the MVP favorites and could very well win the award for the first time in his 17-year career.
But, beyond his MVP candidacy, ESPN writer Sarah Bishop has a much stronger belief. Bishop believes that Stafford deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Rams' Matthew Stafford should be in the Hall of Fame, per ESPN writer
"Quarterback Matthew Stafford should be a Hall of Famer," Bishop writes. "But this season might be the one that has proved to everyone else that he should be in the Hall of Fame."
Those around Stafford believe he's deserving of the Hall of Fame, and with an incredible year, despite a rough Week 17 performance, Stafford has further proven his candidacy for the Hall of Fame.
In his 17th season, Stafford has thrown for 4,448 yards and 42 touchdowns with eight interceptions. He's made the Pro Bowl for the third time in his NFL career, and will likely finish as a top-3 MVP candidate at worst, if not win it this season.
This is his best season in the NFL, and it comes nearly two decades into his career. Stafford has played in 238 games in his NFL career between the Rams and the Detroit Lions, and he's done enough to be considered for the honor.

He led the Rams to a Super Bowl victory in 2021 and has 64,267 passing yards in his career with 419 touchdowns and 196 interceptions.
While he's tied for the most pick-sixes in NFL history with Brett Favre, Stafford has been one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL since his debut in 2009.
He might not have the NFL records as Drew Brees or the multiple Super Bowl victories as Eli Manning, but Stafford's entire career, especially if he wins an MVP this season, should be more than enough to warrant a spot in the Hall of Fame.
Stafford isn't in the same tier as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and some of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, but he's done more than enough to be a Hall of Famer when he retires.
