The Los Angeles Rams are coming off a big win over the Carolina Panthers in the Wild Card round, and now will travel to face the Chicago Bears in the Divisional round.

For this matchup against a young, ascending Bears team, the Rams offense needs to be firing on all cylinders, as the Bears offense can be one of the more explosive units in the league.

Fortunately for the Rams, they got some good news on a key offensive lineman's odds to come back from injury. Adam Grosbard of the LA Daily News reports that Kevin Dotson has a decent chance to play this week.

Rams get huge injury news on key OL Kevin Dotson

"Sean McVay says he's 'optimistic' that Rams right guard Kevin Dotson will play against the Bears," Grosbard reported.

The Rams have been able to function without Dotson, but the 29-year-old is one of the bets lineman in the NFL, and getting him back will only make the offense better.

Facing a weak Bears defense, having every edge they can get will be huge. Whether it's in the running game with Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, or in pass protection, Dotson is a big upgrade over Justin Dedich.

Dotson has been dealing with an ankle issue which is sustained in the Week 16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. While he hasn't missed much time, his absence has been felt.

Coming back for the Divisional round would be huge for the Rams, and this update from McVay indicates that the offensive guard has a decent chance to suit up for the Rams.

A strong week of practice, without going below a limited participant, would be good news for his chances to play.

Dotson has a chance to play against the Bears, as McVay is "optimistic" the sixth-year guard will be good to go for the Divisional round.
