The Los Angeles Rams are entering a Week 18 match against the Arizona Cardinals with a dire need for a win to have momentum heading into the playoffs.
Even if the Rams stick at the six seed, getting a win would be a sigh of relief for a Rams team coming off back-to-back losses.
Fortunately for the Rams, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, they are getting some help this week. Tight end Tyler Higbee is having his practice window opened.
Rams get good news on injured tight end for Week 18, playoffs
"The Rams designated TE Tyler Higbee to return from injured reserve, a potential playoff addition," Rapoport revealed Wednesday.
After a stint on injured reserve for a while, since the first Seattle Seahawks game back in Week 11, the Rams have been without Higbee.
Rookie Terrence Ferguson and veteran Colby Parkinson were good in his place, but getting all three tight ends, plus Davis Allen, healthy will be a huge plus for the Rams.
Higbee has been out for a while this season due to an ankle injury. But now, he's coming off injured reserve, having the next 21 days to officially be activated to the 53-man roster.
He had 30 receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns before landing on IR this season, and while he's been banged up in recent years, he's been one of Stafford's favorite targets.

In limited playing time in 2024, he caught eight passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns, and in the playoffs, he caught 12 of 15 targets for 112 yards and one touchdown.
In his NFL career, Higbee has caught 381 of his 562 targets for 2,858 yards and 26 touchdowns over the years. In the playoffs, he's been a quality target for Stafford.
This season, the tight end room is a bit better than normal, but getting Higbee back will be a nice plus for the Rams as the playoffs begin after Week 18.
This news from Rapoport doesn't confirm he's back just yet, but it is good news that he could return as soon as Week 18.
