Rams All-Pro closing in on incredible career-first image

Los Angeles Rams receiver Davante Adams has done just about everything in his career, which has spanned 12 years.

But one thing has allured him.

Playing in a Super Bowl.

Having made the playoffs seven times in his career, and making a Championship game in five of them, Adams has failed to reach the NFL's ultimate game.

And now he gets the chance...if his team beats the Seattle Seahawks.

"Just having been here so many times and understanding exactly what it takes to get where we're ultimately trying to go," Adams said via ESPN. "It's obviously exciting to achieve the minor goals along the way that you ultimately need to do to get where you want to be, but yeah, [getting to a Super Bowl] just feels like almost like a mythical thing to me at this point.

"You do everything you can to get there. It's been so hard, and [I've] been working so hard at it. So we're close. We just got to finish it off."

Adams to play key role in NFC Championship

Having totaled 14 touchdowns this season, Adams is Matthew Stafford's go-to guy in the red zone, easily being the Rams' most crucial weapon not named Puka Nacua.

Adams has played the Seahawks once this season, having one catch for a touchdown from eight targets.

And at Lumen Field, he will have to show up to ease the burden on Nacua, because you can bet Mike Macdonald is going to try to take No. 12 away.

Adams is on the doorstep of a career first, and having gotten so close several times, is this the year he finally breaks through?

He sure hopes so.
