The Los Angeles Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football, despite the best effort from Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua.
The Rams' number one receiver had a massive performance, recording 225 yards and two touchdowns on 12 receptions for the Rams in Week 16. But, after the game, Nacua posted a critique of the NFL officials before quickly deleting it.
Combined with his comments on a livestream earlier in the week, Nacua has made some inflammatory comments about officials lately. The NFL didn't stand by and watch those comments get made. As Mike Garafolo of NFL Network shares, the league is fining Nacua $25,000 for the comments he made about officials this week.
Rams' Puka Nacua fined $25,000 after comments on NFL officiating
"The NFL has fined Rams WR Puka Nacua $25,000 for his comments about officiating, sources say," Garafolo reports. "Nacua had compared officials to lawyers and said they make calls to be on TV."
It's been a busy week for Nacua, and while his on-field performance was impressive, the off-field drama has led to an apology and now a $25,000 price tag.
The Rams' superstar wide receiver won't be hurting for money anytime soon, especially with a major contract extension likely on the horizon.
But, this fine levied by the NFL is the league taking serious note of the comments from Nacua, and puts the Rams' wide receiver on notice going forward.

Nacua has since apologized for his comments about the officials and the other controversial comments he's made recently.
This fine from the NFL comes not long after his comments about officials wanting to be on TV, and his instant postgame reaction in a now-deleted post, "Can you say I was wrong. Appreciate you stripes for your contribution. Lol."
After deleting that post, Nacua issued an apology shared by Underdog NFL, "It was just a lack of awareness. Just frustration."
Nacua will look to shake off a rough week off the field in the Rams Week 17 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, which is a very important game to close out the non-divisional games in 2025.
